FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

OK, I got my frame, what's next?

If you purchased your frame complete with cement backer board installed, you'll want to seek out qualified, (and licensed when required) tradesmen to finish out the various steps to completion.  Here is an example of a typical sequencing:

  • A licensed electrician installs the desired/required electrical receptacles into the frame.

  • Stucco,  stacked stone, tile, etc. Installed.

  • Countertops and sink installed.

  • Doors/drawers and appliances installed.

How long is the typical turnaround if I order a frame?

Typically, it takes under two weeks to have your frame delivered and set up.

I saw on another website where I can buy a frame and put it together myself. Are these the same as yours?

Great question!  The answer is that they are not.  While the frames may look somewhat comparable, the quality does not compare.  Here are the major differences:

  • Our frames are aluminum, as opposed to steel, and will not rust.

  • Our frames are fully welded for superior strength.  No screws!

  • With mail-order off-the-shelf kits, the consumer has to assemble the frame with screws and fittings.

  • The initial cost may look attractive but the frames are limited to standard lengths, widths, and heights. The components required for customization turn out to be costly and still with limitations. You Tube videos profess " The structural integrity and rigidity will be achieved with the installation of the Hardie™ or cement board.

  • Our frames are delivered to your site, complete and ready for you to take the project from there.

What facing options do I have once I receive the frame with the Hardie™ Backer Board installed?

The Hardie™ Backer gives you an excellent base for installing stucco, stone, or tile.  Many of our customers are handy and tackle the tile or stonework themselves.  Otherwise, trade professionals that do this type of work are easy to find.  Your neighborhood Facebook™ page is a good place to start.

How do I begin the process of ordering a frame?

You should first have an idea of the location and shape of the frame you would like.  You should then decide what openings you will want in your frames, and where they will be placed.  These are things like drawers, doors, refrigerators, grills, burners, etc. (sketching out your kitchen will be helpful during this process).  You can then use our Self Pricing tool to determine the cost of your frame.  And keep in mind, we’re always happy to help with this process, so don’t hesitate to call.
